We have made a small compilation of the moments where this element from the costume world has made an appereance in the fashion world.
The austrian designer Helmut Lang had one of his models wearing one of these accessories for his FW 98 collection that featured the model in a black minimalist look creating a totally surreal contrast.
One of the greatest exponents in including these animated aesthetic to its collections is the brand Comme de Garçons. In FW 13, they made a cap with ears which would later be dressed by Victoria Beckham. In FW 18 they released beanies with bunny and mouse ears that later would become really popular after being worn by A$ap Rocky in his video “Kids turned out fine”.
Another interesting moment was when the designer Thom Browne dressed many of his models with unusual rabbit hats in his FW 14 collection.
We also love the cover starring Dua Lipa for the relaunch of the iconic magazine “The Face” in which you can see her wearing an adorable pink hat with this type of ears. This item was designed by @gareth_wrighton , who we recommend you to follow.Where do you think all this inspiration comes from while creating these types of elements? From cult films like Gummo or Donnie Darko? Or from the American Playboy movement?
We let you down below some of the videos referenced in this article.
