#TRENDS The Cowboy style is back

  • Cowboy trend style Calvin klein raf simons

This trend has been lately brought back to their collections by many brands. However, the great precursor of it has been Hedi Slimane, who started introducing this style  while he was the Head Designer at Saint Laurent (2012 – 2016) He took this aesthetic in a very independent level since he was the only one who followed it by 70´s rock wave.

The second guilty of having democratized this trend is Raf Simons, who also kept an eye on cowboys while being creative director for Calvin Klein. He brought back the classic Americana style and re-adapted it with new cuts and colors in his SS18 and FW18 collections. Other brands such as Hood by Air have been inspired by this aesthetic previously for their SS17 collection, but the culprit of bringing it to the masses is the Belgian designer.

Currently, brands such as Telfar, Our Legacy, Vetements, Vaquera or Barragán have being a great exponent of this aesthetic which is formed by cowboy boots and boot cut pants to be able to wear them as well as large buckle belts, fringed jackets or shirts with classic cuts including the iconical hat. Even streetwear brands like Pleasures or Palace have also brought it back.

As icons of this trend we can point out the legendary Lenny Kravitz who has been a great ambassador of it since day one or the growing and popular artist Lil Nas X.
