The first goliath´s mold, has its origins in 1977 and was created by Stan Besner of Ultra Palm optics in Holland. Following, many different brands have produced this model. The most representative ones are Caviar and Cazal which I recommend to take a look at. Curiously, both brands are pretty famous companies inside the rap game.
We can find the Goliath mold as frames and sunglasses, dressed in different colors and nowadays you can get them from the vintage market or through brands that make reproductions of them.
The fame that refers to it comes due to its use by different celebrities. Inside the music world, the most iconic artists who have worn are Darryl McDaniels from RUN DMC, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Nas or Usher.
Also, it is a distinctive piece in gangsters films and actors like Robert de Niro in Casino or Eliott Gould in Ocean’s Eleven have worn them. British actor Michael Ciane or the model Birgit “Gitte” Lee are other famous ambassadors.
