In 1967 the british shoe company Clarks brought it to the market. This model was based on the grasshopper moccasin, launched three years earlier by the german company Sioux.
Clarks is known for the quality and durability of its shoes. Another of its stamps, is the creper sole, developed in 1950 by Nathan Clark, famous for the comfort it brings to the footstep. Probably, is the closest shoe to a sneaker that can exist.
The Wallabees had a great influence on hip-hop 90s scene. Thanks to the group Wu – Tang Clan, who made them their identity mark, with innumerable references on its lyrics´s. From that point, Clarks´s collaborations with different clothing brands and musical groups have not stopped (Supreme, Doom, Stussy, Wu-tang clan, Goodhood …).
There are two more curious stories. First one, the use of this genuine shoe by the character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) in the famous serie Breaking Bad. The second one, the predilection that has the director Wes Anderson for them.
